Whole Hearted Monkey Nuts withdrawn due to lack of nut allergy warning. Are they kidding?
The UK’s Food Standards Agency issued an alert stating that EH Booths is withdrawing some of the Whole Hearted Monkey Nuts because of the lack of a label declaring a nut allergy warning.
Let me understand this:
- I’m assuming a package of Whole Hearted Roasted Monkey Nuts will be clearly marked with the name on the packaging.
- Does the presence of the word ‘nuts’ in the name and on the label not in itself constitute a nut allergy warning?
- Should there not be an exception for products whose ingredient of concern is clearly stated in the product name?
This has to be one of the most laughable examples of bureaucratic red tape and waste I’ve ever heard of.
