Women in menopause… Yup! We’re a fun group!
…or at least we used to be!
I have been well into menopause a few years now.
My husband and children learned to be very adept at surfing the waves of my moodiness, depression, anxiety and stress.
It doesn’t help that my mental symptoms are highly exacerbated by my having to retire due to work-related PTSD, anxiety, depression and stress.
I’m lucky as far as the common physical symptoms are concerned – especially hot flashes. I rarely experience hot flashes and I’m so thankful for that. I hate dealing with heat at the best of times, so this is a huge plus for me.
I do experience the other physical menopause symptoms occasionally, but mildly.
To learn more, I visited several websites and I was able to find pretty much everything anyone needs to know about menopause.
But what do they mean, caffeine, alcohol and nicotine are common triggers of symptoms?
Oh, wait, they can have nicotine – I don’t smoke.
I can’t miss my morning and dinner time coffees and I like nothing better than my evening glass of wine. Oh, woe is me…
Low libido is another symptom?
Ya! That’s it!
My libido is low because I’m in menopause. So then I must be wrong about length of time I’ve been ‘suffering’ from it, I must have been in menopause for over two decades?
Odd though, that this is about the ages of both of our children, who are in their twenties. Could childbirth trigger menopausal symptoms?
I could find no mention of a relationship between childbirth and menopause on any of the sites, so why?
I’d love to be able to blame it on something.
Life is a mystery.
